The ‘France Day’ is a themed cross-curricular day full of hands-on activities to extend the children’s knowledge and understanding about our European neighbour.
The children, armed with passports, follow a tour itinerary for the day, to enjoy a wide range of activities based around different settings: Le Café (croissants and hot chocolate), Le Vignoble (the vineyard), La Marche (baguettes and cheeses), Lascaux (cave-paintings), Chez l’Oiseau (serviettes and menus), Paris (poetry, prose or drawing inspired by Le Tour Eiffel). Some use of French conversation is encouraged. An impromptu ‘fashion show’ completes the day:
